The representatives of SRPA “Impulse” took part in the VII International Scientific and Technical Conference NUCNEXT-2025 “Prospects for the Implementation of Innovations in Nuclear Energy”.
The specialist from the In-Core Monitoring Systems Division gave a presentation entitled “Application of the Full-Core VVER-1000 Benchmark for Analyzing and Assessing the Impact of Differences in ENDF/B Libraries”.
The report presents the results of successful modeling of the VVER-1000 fuel element reactor core using the Serpent Monte Carlo code. A similar core model was proposed by the scientific community of organizations operating VVER-1000 reactors to verify the correctness of the fuel element calculations using various deterministic codes.
The next stage of research will be the verification of the fuel element calculations by the national calculation complex “ImCore” based on the developed Monte Carlo model of the VVER-1000 reactor.
The results of participation in the conference confirmed the relevance and correctness of completed and planned projects on in-core monitoring systems.
Discussions during the presentation of reports contributed to the search for ways to improve the safety of nuclear power plants.
The NUCNEXT-2025 conference demonstrated Ukraine's high scientific and engineering potential in the field of nuclear energy, the development of innovations, and integration into the international nuclear community.
