Solutions for nuclear power plants
Based on half a century of experience, SRPA “Impulse” offers innovative engineering solutions/services for the implementation of control and safety functions for nuclear power plant power units.
Process information system (unit’s upper level)
Central control system for the NPP power unit which provides visualization, registration and documentation of technological process parameters in all operating modes of the power unit, control of critical functions and basic safety parameters.
Normal operation control systems for reactor and turbine divisions
The systems are designed to control normal operation control of NPP units’ technological systems.
In-core monitoring system
The in-core monitoring system assures monitoring of neutron-physical and thermohydraulic parameters of a reactor facility’s (RF) primary circuit and information support to an operator.
System to monitor boron-10 isotope (boric acid) concentration
The main function of the boron concentration monitoring system based on neutron solution analyzers NAR-I – automatic continuous measurement of boron-10 (boric acid) concentration in coolant at NPP power units with WWER-type reactors.
Safety control system technological
The system is designed to initiate actuation and control of the power units’ safety systems.
Neutron flux monitoring system
The system is a part of a control and protection system (SUZ) of NPP power units.
Complex diagnostics system for equipment of a reactor facility’s primary circuit
It provides complex technical diagnostics of the primary circuit equipment by analyzing diagnostic information received from power unit monitoring and control systems, local diagnostic systems and its own databases.
Control rod control system
Control rod control system is an executive part of control and protection system of NPP power units.
Accident and post-accident monitoring system
The PAMS accident and post-accident monitoring system is intended for monitoring of safety parameters and state of reactor facility’s systems during design and beyond-design accidents.
Control and safety functions for nuclear power plant power units:
- automatic and remote control of normal operation process systems;
- control of neutron-physical and thermal-hydraulic parameters of the reactor primary circuit;
- measurement of neutron power and reactor reactivity;
- identification of initial events leading to disruptions in normal operation and control of power unit safety systems;
- power reduction and reactor shutdown in response to warning and emergency protection signals;
- monitoring of the technical condition and operating modes of process equipment;
- monitoring of safety parameters and the condition of reactor systems during design basis and beyond design basis accidents (including those associated with severe fuel damage);
- collection, processing, and storage of information about: the occurrence of disturbances in normal operation, accidents, and their development; actual algorithms of operation of systems important for safety;
- actions taken by personnel to eliminate detected disturbances.
The functions are implemented using digital instrumentation and control systems (I&C) based on the MSKU 4M hardware and software platform, which includes: PS5140 and PS5150 series workstations; MSKU 4 series industrial controllers; communication equipment; software for various functional purposes.
