THE ACCEPTANCE TESTS OF SVRK-M2 HAVE BEEN ACCOMPLISHED
In February 2026, the acceptance tests of the lower-level hardware and software, and the additional functions of the upper-level software, the modified in-core monitoring system SVRK-M2 for the VVER-1000 power unit have been accomplished.
SVRK-M2 ensures the following:
- monitoring of “mixed” loads with fuel of any suppliers including loads with fuel rod assembly of a different fuel rod height;
- monitoring of loads with fuel profiled in axial and radial manners;
- possibility to directly monitor linear power density at the fuel element level;
- electronic album of neutron-physical characteristics based on predictive func-tions of the system;
- informational support for an operator in power maneuvering modes.
The neutron-physical parameters of the reactor core underwent the diversified calculation using two software packages: “Beacon-TSM” (Westinghouse) and “ImCore” (SRPA “Impulse”).
The lower level of SVRK-M2 is implemented on the basis of the fault-tolerant industrial controller of MSKU 4 series.
Based on the results of the work, the acceptance commission consisting of the representatives of SC “NNEGC “Energoatom”, SNRI, and SRPA “Impulse” concluded as follows: the hardware and software of SVRK-M2, which successfully passed the tests, fully meets the requirements set forth in TOR, regulations, rules and standards on nuclear and radiation safety including the requirements for cybersecurity, and is ready to be supplied.
