HUNDREDS OF AKRO-B AND AKRO-C COMPLEXES ARE INSTALLED AT JSC “UKRAINIAN RAILWAYS” FACILITIES
Within the framework of the international project, after winning the international tender, at 19 distances of Lviv, Odesa, Southern-Western and Southern railways, 207 software and hardware complexes of automated rolling-stock inspection system AKRO-B and 6 redundant regional centralization systems AKRO-C. The terms of the project contract are consistent with the policies and regulations of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, which is financing the project.

This was preceded by extensive work on the manufacturing and adjustment of equipment, software development, and comprehensive testing.
The AKRO-B system includes wayside and station equipment designed to:
– detect hot axle boxes and hot wheelsets on rolling stock while trains are in motion;
– transmit information to the station regarding the number and locations of detected faulty nodes on the train;
– transmit information to the AKRO-C centralization system.
AKRO-C includes server equipment and automated workstations. It receives real-time information from AKRO-B. AKRO-C generates quick-time, comprehensive information on the status of vehicles in train formations, train delays due to malfunctions, the performance of maintenance on inspection equipment, activations of fire and security alarms, as well as diagnostic information. AKRO-C also enables automated analysis of axle box and wheel heating, detailed warnings and alarms for each train, and a number of other functions.

Currently, approximately 40% of the rolling stock technical condition inspection systems in use at JSC “Ukrainian Railways” facilities are manufactured by SRPA “Impulse”. The use of these up-to-date systems significantly reduces the time required to identify problematic rolling stock and improves the efficiency of its operation. Labour and financial costs for equipment maintenance have been drastically reduced thanks to the built-in self-diagnostic system and automated calibration process.
