ACCEPTANCE TESTS CONDUCTED ON THE AUTOMATIC TURBINE REGULATION AND PROTECTION SYSTEM FOR POWER UNIT 2 AT THE ARMENIAN NUCLEAR POWER PLANT
In April 2026, acceptance tests of the automatic turbine control and protection system (SARZ) for Power Unit 2 of the Armenian NPP were successfully conducted at the SRPA «Impulse» test site.
The implementation of the SARZ will ensure increased efficiency, reliability, and safety of turbine equipment operation, as well as improved power control quality and operational stability of the power units through: optimization of control processes; expanded logging of parameters and events; and the use of modern, highly reliable technical means and advanced diagnostics.
The SARZ is implemented using MSKU-4 industrial controllers and PS5140 workstations.
As a result of work the acceptance commission concluded the following:
- The equipment presented meets the requirements of Terms of reference, effective regulations, rules and standards on nuclear and radiation safety including the requirement regarding cyber security;
- The designing, technical, and operating documentation as well as the software documentation meet the requirements of the technical specifications and are sufficient for its application;
- To declare that the SARZ equipment is ready to be supplied to the Power Unit 2 of the Armenian NPP.
