VIBRATION MONITORING AND DIAGNOSTICS SYSTEM FOR REACTOR COOLANT PUMPS FOR KOZLODUY NPP HAS BEEN PUT INTO OPERATION

In November 2021, the vibration monitoring and diagnostics system for reactor coolant pumps (VMDS RCP) was put into operation at Unit No. 6 of Kozloduy NPP..

VMDS RCP is intended for monitoring and diagnosing of vibrational parameters of RCPs, as well as technological parameters from the unit’s process information system for early detection of abnormal states of mechanical and electrical parts of RCPs.

VMDS RCP will significantly increase the unit operation safety level due to efficient analysis of the state and early detection of the beyond-design states (abnormalities) in the RCP equipment. It will also enable receiving required information to make a decision on possibility to prolong the operation life.
