TESTING THE MRC-U TRACK CIRCUIT SYSTEM FOR FUNCTIONAL COMPATIBILITY WITH THE SIMIS IS INTERLOCKING

On June 20-24, 2022, at the site of the Siemens Mobility test center in Braunschweig, the equipment of MRC-U microprocessor track circuit system was tested for interoperability with SIMIS IS interlocking manufactured by Siemens. MRC-U equipment was manufactured under a contract between SRPA «Impulse» and Siemens Mobility for delivery to Line 6 (Tartu-Koidula section) of the Estonian Railway, where SIMIS IS has already been installed.

MRС-U provides train position control and generation of automatic locomotive signaling codes. Tonal frequency track circuits are used as track sensors.

The testing was successful, the commission consisting of representatives of Siemens Mobility and SRPA «Impulse» stated that all requirements for interoperability were met.
