PILOT OPERATION OF AXLE COUNTING EQUIPMENT IS COMPLETED AT “STEPOK-STANISHEVKA” AND “VASYLKOV-1 - VASYLKOV-CENTER” SPANS

The commission appointed by the order of JSC “Ukrainian Railways” reviewed the test results of prototypes of axle counters operated for more than one year on the "Stepok-Stanyshevka" and "Vasylkov-1 - Vasylkov-Center" spans in accordance with the technical specifications, program and test methodology.

The commission stated that during the period of operation, failures, malfunctions and any deficiencies in the operation of the axle counters were not recorded. Based on the results of the commission's work, a decision was made to put them into permanent operation.

Axle counting tools are part of the microprocessor-based axle counting system (MSSO-U) developed at SPRA "Impulse", designed to determine the freedom of track sections of any complexity and configuration at stations and races.

The main functions of MSSO-U (in conjunction with microprocessor based interlocking system):

• Determining the state of the track section:
  • definition of of vacancy;
  • reset of false occupancy of the track section on the responsible command of the station duty officer;
  • detection of partial passage error (when the wheel stays in the sensor coverage area for a long time).
• Control vacancy of track of a span with semiautomatic blocking:
  • vacancy of track of a span;
  • automatic registration of the arrival of rolling stock in full force;
  • coding of approach / departure sections of hauls adjacent to the station with semiautomatic blocking;
  • displaying information about the train situation, the state of technological objects and MSSO-U devices for the station attendant and electrician.
• Diagnostics of the state of MSSO-U devices.

MSSO-U, together with the semiautomatic blocking system, makes it possible to implement an automatic road block.

MSSO-U can be used in systems of various manufacturers in such segments of railway transport as: high-speed, main and secondary railway lines; metro; industrial railway transport; light rail transport.
