LOWER LEVEL EQUIPMENT SVRK-M2 OF READY TO BE SUPPLIED TO RIVNE NPP UNIT 4

In November 2024, the acceptance tests of the lower level of the modified in-core monitoring system (NU SVRK-M2) for Rivne NPP Unit 4 have been passed successfully.

LL SVRK-M2 combined with the upper level ensures the following:

  • monitoring “mixed” loads with fuel of any suppliers including loads with fuel rod assembly of a different fuel rod height;
  • monitoring loads with fuel profiled in axial and radial manners;
  • possibility to directly monitor linear power density at the fuel element level;
  • electronic album of neutron-physical characteristics based on predictive functions of the system;
  • informational support for an operator in power maneuvering modes.

Diversified calculation of neutron-physical parameters of a core is performed using two software suites: "Beacon-TSM" (Westinghouse) and "ImCore" (SRPA “Impulse”).

LL SVRK-M2 is implemented based on MSKU-4 failsafe industrial controllers.

As a result of work the acceptance commission consisting of the representatives of Rivne NPP, SNRIU and SRPA “Impulse” concluded: LL SVRK-M2 with the set of documentation fully meets the requirements of TOR, regulations, rules and standards on nuclear and radiation safety including the requirements for cybersecurity, and is ready to be supplied to Rivne NPP.
