PARTICIPATION IN THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE “BULATOM-2025”

Representatives of SRPA “Impulse” traditionally took part in the international conference BULATOM-2025, organized by the association BULGARIAN ATOMIC FORUM.

The conference brought together the leading experts in the world nuclear field. In numerous reports and discussions, the current issues of operation and ways of nuclear energy development were discussed.

The expert of the “In-Core Monitoring Systems” division made a report «Ukrainian In-Core Monitoring System ‘ImCore’ for VVER-1000 Reactors: Current Status and Development Prospects». In the presentation, the expert emphasized that:

• The first national calculation complex “ImCore” had been developed in Ukraine, its comprehensive verification and validation had been performed;
• Based on the national calculation complex “ImCore”, the new-generation SVRK – SVRK-M2 – had been implemented, which was operated at that moment at four power units;
• SVRK-M2 was introduced at three more power units, and the equipment of all NPP power units in Ukraine was planned;
• SVRK-M2 could be used at foreign NPPs equipped with VVER reactors.

SVRK-M2 ensures the following:

• monitoring of “mixed” loads with fuel of any suppliers including loads with fuel rod assembly of a different fuel rod height;
• monitoring of loads with fuel profiled in axial and radial manners;
• possibility to directly monitor linear power density at the fuel element level;
• electronic album of neutron-physical characteristics based on predictive functions of the system;
• informational support for an operator in power maneuvering modes.

The report aroused great interest among representatives of organizations operating NPPs with VVER-type reactors. The discussion focused on the issues and ways to improve in-core monitoring.

The results of participation in the conference confirmed the relevance of the ongoing and planned projects on the development of SVRK.
