TRIAL COMMISSIONING OF THE HUMIDITY MONITORING SUBSYSTEM OF THE PRIMARY COOLANT LEAK MONITORING SYSTEM AT SOUTH-UKRAINE NPP-2

In December 2015, within the framework of the Complex (Consolidated) Safety Upgrade Program for the Units of NPPs, the trial commissioning of the humidity monitoring subsystem of the primary coolant leak monitoring system (PKV SKPT) took place at South-Ukraine NPP-2.

During outage-2015, PKV SKPT was installed and its complex adjustment took place.

SKPT is designated to monitor licktightness of the equipment and pipelines of the main circulation circuit of the reactor facility with a VVER-1000 reactor, to detect a place of a leak of the RF primary coolant in time, to estimate its size in the normal operation modes, with troubles of normal operation and in the “small leak” mode. SKPT of the RF’s primary circuit consists of PKV (humidity monitoring subsystem) and PAK (acoustic monitoring subsystem).

Based on the positive results of the preliminary complex testing and readiness of PKV SKPT for trial operation, it was decided to carry out trial commissioning of SVShD at Unit 2.
