Introduction of the reactor facility’s equipment complex diagnostics system (KSD RF) continues within the implementation of the measures of the Complex (Consolidated) Safety Upgrade Program (CCSUP) at unit 2 of Zaporizhzhya NPP during the outage.
The RF complex diagnostics system provides information on the state of the main equipment of the reactor compartment. The end user of the diagnostic indicators is a power reactor main specialist service (SGSER).
“The system itself is designated for complex monitoring and diagnostics of the main equipment and the pipelines of a WWER 1000 (В-320) reactor facility in the normal operation mode, using these local diagnostics systems, information from the unit’s control computer network and the automated radiation monitoring system”, – says Viacheslav Kalenik, an operating engineer of SGSER.
First of all, the new complex system will significantly increase the unit operation safety level – due to online analysis of the state and early detection of the beyond-design states (abnormalities) in the reactor facility’s equipment. Also, it will enable receiving required information to make a decision on possibility to prolong a period of operation, will allow optimizing maintenance planning for RF’s diagnosed equipment.
The separate systems of KSD RF have already been put into trial operation at the first and the third units of ZNPP. Commercial commissioning of the system at units 1, 2, 3 has been planned for year 2019.
We would like to remind that there is the 42nd day of the medium planned repair at unit 2 of Zaporizhzhya NPP as of 2 March.
