TWO MORE NPP UNITS ARE TO BE ENHANCED IMPLEMENTING THE UPGRADED IN-CORE MONITORING SYSTEMS

In December 2024, the acceptance tests of the modified in-core monitoring system (SVRK-M2) with the integrated software “BEACON-TSM” for Rivne NPP Unit 1 and the lower level of SVRK-M2 for Rivne NPP Unit 2 have been passed successfully.

SVRK-M2 ensures the following:

• monitoring “mixed” loads with fuel of any suppliers including loads with fuel rod assembly of a different fuel rod height;
• monitoring loads with fuel profiled in axial and radial manners;
• possibility to directly monitor linear power density at the fuel element level;
• electronic album of neutron-physical characteristics based on predictive functions of the system;
• informational support for an operator in power maneuvering modes.

The acceptance commission concluded: the introduced SVRK-M2 and the lower level of SVRK-M2 with the set of documentation fully meets the requirements of TOR, regulations, rules and standards on nuclear and radiation safety including the requirements for cybersecurity, and is ready to be supplied to Rivne NPP.
