TYPE TESTS OF WORKSTATION PS5140

In January 2024, type tests of the PS5140 workstation were successfully carried out at the SRPA “Impulse” site.

The purpose of the tests was to assess the effectiveness and feasibility of making changes to the technical specifications for PS5140 workstations, caused by the new requirements of two regulatory documents:

• new edition of the standard SOU NAEK 100:2022 “Instrumentation and control systems important for safety of nuclear power plants”;
• the enacted NP 306.2.237-2022 "Requirements for cyber protection of instrumentation and control systems of nuclear plants to ensure nuclear and radiation safety".

Representatives of NNEGC “Energoatom”, State Nuclear Power Plant, nuclear power plants and SRPA “Impulse” took part in the tests. The commission reviewed the submitted test materials in full, and also carried out random experimental checks. The test results were considered positive, and the feasibility and effectiveness of making changes to the technical specifications was confirmed.

The commission recommended distributing the test results to all versions of PS5140 workstations as part of the new edition of the technical specifications.
